Georgia Mae Whitaker Nodine Bagwell

Daughter of Sam & Mattie Workman Whitaker.

Her first husband was Edward Nodine. He was the widower of Margery Smith Nodine, who passed away in 1910. Edward and Georgia were the parents of two daughters and a son together before he passed away in 1922.

Her second husband was John Franklin Bagwell.

She was a native of Lancaster and had lived in Greenville for the previous 35 years, and had also lived in Pelzer prior to that. She retired from Brandon Mills five years earlier.

Survived by her husband; her two daughters, Mrs. J.T. (Thelma) Bridges of Easley and Mrs. Mattie Sue Nodine Bagwell of Greenville; her son, Paul Grady Nodine of Greer; her stepmother, Mrs. Ida Kester Whitaker of Gastonia, NC; a half-sister, Mrs. Irene Hinson of Spartanburg; a half-brother, Claude Whitaker of Gastonia, NC; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; several step-grandchildren.

Funeral services: Tuesday, January 2, 1962, Julian Avenue Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Valice Minton, Rev. C.B. Lockee, and Rev. Daniel Greer.

Burial: Graceland Cemetery
