Visitation will be held at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 from 2:00 until 8:00 pm. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Memorial gifts may be given to the Neva A. Maggard Memorial fund.
Born March 5, 1911, Neva was the youngest daughter of Burt and Mary (Baker) Beals. A lifelong resident of Colfax, Neva attended both country school and Colfax High School. On September 22, 1934, she was united in marriage to Roscoe Maggard near Colfax, Iowa. To this union, one beloved son was born. Neva greatly enjoyed gardening and journaling, but she cherished her family above all else, and her devotion to raising her children and grandchildren was a great labor of love.
Neva is survived by her son, Max (Joyce) Maggard of Colfax; and five grandchildren, Ron Maggard, Keith (Kris) Maggard, Linda (Joe) Maher, Rhonda Maggard, and Mitzi (Darrin) Wood. She will also be greatly missed by her ten great-grandchildren.
Neva was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, three older brothers, and seven older sisters.
