David L. Kessler, 54, left this life after too few years. A retired lieutenant for the Sedgwick County Fire Department who served for 21 years, he died tragically June 20, 2009. David was preceded in the arms of Our Loving God by his father Jerome "June" Kessler and brother Audry. He leaves behind his loving family: mother Margret Kessler, sisters Kay J. Goodknight, Karla K. Davison, Joyce E. Dolbow; and brother Russell D. Kessler. In addition, David has a large family of relatives whose heart were laid opened and emptied by this loss. The greatest joy in David's life was his family of friends. He had an easy way of gathering people to his large hear and had room to cherish and love them all. David's greatest passion in life was Life Itself. He lived fully with equal shares of joy and sadness. David was happiest when creating beautiful things in his woodshop or garden and was considered a master in both, but his friends may add cooking and music to his list. David is missed. It is not clear who feels the greatest loss for hi filled a different need in all of us, but we share the light of his love and look forward to seeing his light shine again. Rosary 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Wednesday both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the following: St. Catherine of Siena Memorial Fund or Camp Barnabas Special Needs Camp www.campbarnabas.org. Arrangements with Resthaven Mortuary.
