George Vanaman was born June 13th, 1867, in White County, Indiana, and passed away at Lubbock, Texas, September 21st, 1947, at the age of 80 years, three months and eight days. He was united in marriage to Martha J. Fry on May 22, 1893. To this union were born seven children, four girls and three boys. But God in his wisdom saw fit to call their first born after seeing the light of this sinful world only four days. The other six children and ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren remain here on earth to mourn the loss of their father and grandfather. He also leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Catherine Boller of Idaville, Indiana. After suffering untold agonies for several months and serious illness for nearly two weeks, God has called him unto his own.
