TURKEY (Special) Services for J.W. "Burk" Lancaster, 84, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Clinton, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Gene Lancaster and the Rev. Elvis Pitts both assisting.

Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Matador.

He died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at a Lubbock nursing home.

He was born July 7, 1915, in Henderson. He was married to the former Ruth Crawford on April 7, 1935, in Wellington. He moved to Turkey from Plainview in 1967, and to Lubbock in 1993. He was a retired carpenter and a member of First Baptist Church of Turkey, where he served for several years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gene of Duncan, Okla., and Stan of Plainview; a daughter, Nelda Copaus of Lubbock; two brothers, Bob of Norwood, Mo., and J.C. of Amarillo; two sisters, Lila Vincent of Caruthers, Calif., and Lowella Hartman of Wellington; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren.
