Services for Claude Mayes, 48, Newcastle waterworks superintendent were held at the Newcastle Methodist Church with Rev. J.C. Wright, pastor of the Newcastle Baptist Church officiating.
Mayes, who moved to Newcastle in 1912 was a farmer before he went to work for the City of Newcastle several years ago.
Survived by two daughters - Mrs. L.C. Autrey and Mrs. Thelma Whitsell, both of Fort Worth; one brother - Willie Mayes of Newcastle; one sister - Mrs. Charles Hearne of Loving.
