Caroline Marks was born in 1873, Odell,
Tippecanoe county, Indiana, daughter of
Aaron Marks and Harriet Van Meter.
She married George Franklin Criger on
June 11, 1898, in West Point, Indiana
and were the parents of three daughters,
Hildrege Lovina, Georgia Wauneda and
Forrrest Princilla Criger.
Forrest Never married, and died at the
age of 44 of Hodgkin's Disease in
West Point. Caroline's huusband,
George F. Criger was first married to
Adaline Sailor. After George and Adaline
divorced, he remarried to Caroline Marks.
It was said that he met her at a rooming
house where he had lived in Tippecanoe
county. She was either working at the
boarding house or was a tenant there.
George was a lineman for the telephone
company and traveled to this region in
connection with his work.
He was born in Elkhart, Indiana.
Her name is spelled Caroline Marks on
their marriage license, but family
always called her "Carrie."
Caroline passed away on
August 22, 1938, in West Point and was
buried at Marks Cemetery.
Marks Cemetery is situated between
West Point and Attica.

WEST POINT, Aug 22__ Mrs. Caroline Criger,
67, of two and one-half miles southwest
of West Point, died at her home of heart
trouble this evening at 5:20 0'clock.
Mrs. Criger was born near Odell and married
George F. Criger in 1898. He Survives, with
three daughters Mrs. Earl Kerr of West Point,
Miss Georgia W. Criger of Attica, and Miss
Forrest Criger at home, and three brothers,
John Marks of West Point, and Lee and Jacob
Marks of Odell. Funeral services, in charge
of the Rogers & Henderson funeral home of
Lafayette will be conducted from the residence
Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
The Rev. Mrs. Pearl Dalka of West Point,
Officiating. Burial will be in Marks Cemetery.
