Member of the faculty of Berea College '49 - '62. He was chairman of the Dep. of Sociology.
He was a native of Colorado. For thr last two years of his life, he was on leave of absence, to serve with the American Friends Service in Philidelphia.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Littell, two daughters, Jeannine and Diane Giffin; two sons, Lawrence and Brian Giffin, and a brother Gerald Giffin of Denver Colorado.
Services were conducted at the Union Church, in Berea, by Rev.T.B. Cowan.
Roscoe is a descendent of John Giffin and Margaret Shaw. His parents were Roscoe Raymond Giffin, Sr. and Martha Gigax.
I visited Berea College today and found a couple of photos of Roscoe in the school yearbook and visited the cemetery. The campus is beautiful, but it could have been a little warmer. This is the only Giffin, I have found in KY.
