PAROWAN -- Dan Blaine Neil, 66, passed away May 12, 1999 in Cedar City, Utah.
He was born February 2, 1933 in Park City, Utah to Andrew Victor and Fannie Page Neil. He married Nyla Georgeanna Herbert July 27, 1956 in Payson, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on July 27, 1996. Dan was an active member of the LDS Church. He served four years in the Seabee's. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict. He loved to hunt and fish and be in the mountains. He was a good husband and father and a very proud grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Nyla of Parowan; four children, David Neil of Parowan, Gary (Brenda) Neil of Enoch, Jeff (Laurel) Neil of Parowan and Bradley (Melanie) Neil of Cedar City. He has 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He has four brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Neil of Scipio, Don (Clerece) Neil of Layton, Wayne (Loy) Neil of American Fork and Carl (Rochell) Neil of Springville. He was preceded in death by a sister Joyce Gardner and brothers James, William and Keith Neil.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 1999 at 11 a.m. Graveside at the Parowan Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday evening at the Parowan LDS 1st Ward Building from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Parowan Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary.
