OBITUARY :
HARRY SHOEMAKER, age 73, Gowen Avenue, Philadelphia, a retired educator of the Philadelphia Public School system, died at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening at the Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia. He had been ill since January.

He was born near Leitersburg, Md., the son of David B. and Sarah Miller Shoemaker. He attended public schools in that district and was graduated from Dickinson College and University of Pennsylvania.

For 37 years, he was a mathematics teacher at Northeast High. He was a member of the Baptist Temple Church, Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are: His wife. Bertha Cline Shoemaker; daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Cook of Foxchase, Pa.; son, Dr. David M. Shoemaker, Quakertown; two grandchildren; brother, William of Quincy, Pa., sisters, Mrs. Henry Bally, Miss Nora Shoemaker and Miss Ella Shoemaker, all of Greencastle.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Grove Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Ross McClintock of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
