Virgil Herbert Riney, 69, of Elvaston, died unexpectedly at 9 a.m. Friday (Aug. 28, 1981) in his home. He was born March 24, 1912, in St. Patrick, Mo., a son of David Matthew and Lenora Viola Moore Riney. He married Margaret Isabelle Spurgeon in Kahoka, Mo., Dec. 9, 1931. Mr. Riney was employed for many years by Midway Sales and Services in Hamilton. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Elura Viola) Martin of Carthage and Mrs. David (Letha Mae) Hicks of Hamilton; a brother, Russell of Wayland, Mo.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and two infant sons.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton, conducted by the Rev. Erven C. Lee. Burial will be in Elvaston City Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
