Ardmore, OK — Services for A. Marvin Dinges, 90, will be held at 10 a.m. on April 13, 2010, at St. Mary, Our Lord of the Rosary, Catholic Church in Ardmore, with Reverend Thomas O'Toole officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A Rosary service will be held the prior evening, April 12, 2010, at 7 p.m., also at St. Mary Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to a reception at the family home at 505 Sunset Drive SW on Monday evening following the Rosary.

Born on March 31, 1919, in Hays, Kansas, to Matthew Q. Dinges and Seraphina Dinges, Marvin passed away on March 23, 2010, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and two sisters.

Marvin graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays, Kansas, (now Thomas More Prep-Marian) and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1948.

On August 16, 1944, Marvin married Jerry Mae Leeman of Ardmore while Marvin was serving as an officer at the Ardmore Air Base. They were married for 62 years. She passed away on December 5, 2006.

He spent four and one-half years in service during World War II in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations, Naples, Italy. Upon separation from the service, he held the rank of Captain in the Air Force.

Marvin was associated with the Noble organization for almost 30 years. The last 18 of these years were spent in Denver where he was President of a subsidiary company of Noble Affiliates until his retirement. He served on the Board of Directors of Noble Affiliates for several years.

While living in Denver he was a 30-year member of the Rotary Club of Denver, the Cherry Hills Country Club and The University Club. Marvin loved to snow ski, and after skiing for 35 years, he took his last run at the age of 80. He also enjoyed golf, tennis and fishing. He was a lifelong Catholic.

Survivors include two daughters, Madeleine Dodge and her husband, David Dodge of Denver, Colorado, and Gretchen Gale and her husband, Charles Gale of Boulder, Colorado; granddaughter, Molly Gale, Boulder, Colorado; grandsons, Jason Dodge, Los Angeles, Alex Dodge, New York City, and John Dodge, Prague, Republic of Czechoslovakia; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Frances Goetz, Tucson, Arizona, and Mrs. Ann Louise Triplett, Conway Springs, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bernadine Dinges of Hays, Kansas; a brother-in-law, Don J. Leeman and his wife, Patti Leeman of Oklahoma City; and also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bearers for the funeral service are Jason Dodge, Alex Dodge, John Dodge, David Dodge, Charles Gale, and Rudy Ellis. Honorary bearers are Don Leeman, Joe Ward, David Ward, Bill Stromberg, and Arvell Pickens
