Marion I. George, 80, of New Holland, died on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at home.

Born June 8, 1929, in Sunbury, PA, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Curtis Dunkelberger. Marion is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, William R. George.

Marion was the mother of Chris A. George and his wife June M. George of King of Prussia, and Jennifer George Maybin and her husband Howard J. Maybin of Branchburg, NJ. Marion was the loving grandmother of David C. George of East Norriton; Melissa J. George of Royersford; Meredith A. Mintzer of Boston, MA; and Megan E. Mintzer of Belleville, NJ. She was also the delighted great-grandmother (known as Gigi) of Madeline R. Keates of Belleville, NJ, and was step-grandmother to Brittney Mason and Sheridan Maybin of Branchburg, NJ. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Yordy of Sunbury, PA.

Marion worked as an administrative assistant for Atlantic Electric in Atlantic City, NJ, and for McNeil Pest Control in West Chester, PA. She and her husband Bill lived most of their life in West Chester, PA, where they raised their children. They were active members of Calvary Lutheran Church. Marion and Bill moved to Garden Spot Village in New Holland, PA, where they have lived just over 10 years. Marion's lifelong love of reading led her to help establish and maintain the Garden Spot Village Library. Marion and Bill are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland.

Marion was preceded in death by her brother, Foster Dunkelberger, and two sisters, Phyllis Yordy and Betty Diehl.

A Celebration of Marion's Life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main Street, New Holland, PA, on Tuesday, April 13, at 11 a.m. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at Northumberland Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Sunbury, PA.
