Rosa Elizabeth patents were James (Jimmy) Jackson Higdon and Mary Alice Stokes. Rosa was the last of their daughters to be born. She had one younger brother and five older. Her six sisters were all older than herself. Rosa was the last of James and Mary Alice children to pass. Her siblings were:

About 1923 Rosa married James Jackson (Jack) Kirksey the son of Asa J. (Jackson) Kirksey and Emma D. Davis Kirksey. Rosa and Jack Kirksey had six children, one son and five daughters:

Rosa and Jack had 21 grandchildren. In the summer of 1995 Rosa was ask, "How is the fishing in her pond?" At 89 years of age she replied, "Good I caught three this morning." She lived most of her life in Conecuh and Mobile County Alabama.
