Mrs. Myra Thelma Edenfield Sikes of Waynesboro, 83 went to be with her Lord Wednesday Feb. 15, 2006 at Portsbridge Hospice in Augusta, GA.

Mrs. Sikes was born on September 24, 1922 to the late Joseph and Ethel Ziegler Edenfield in Screven County, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood J. Sikes; and sons; Haywood Donald Sikes and Myron S. Sikes; a sister, Ruby Sasser; and a brother, Charles Edenfield. Shewas a member of the Waynesboro Church of God where she was part of the Golden Charter Group and a member of the Woodmen of The World Lodge #238. She attended the New Life Christian Church while living in Augusta with her daughter where she was a part of the Senior Adult Living Triumphantly Group. Mrs. Sikes was a past employee of DeLoach Funeral Home in Waynesboro.

Survivors include daughters, Gloria Jones of Augusta and Linda Britto of Waynesboro; a son, Charles M. Sikes Sr.; a daughter in Law, Sheryl Sikes of Waynesboro a sister, Bertie Mooneyham, a brother, Joe Edenfield; grandchildren, Randy Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Rhonda (Bryan) Matthews, Diane (Marty) Ryals, Keith (Pam) Sikes, Cindy (Donnie) Royal, Josh Blackstone, Gina (Tommy) Nelson, Travis Sikes, Tracy Sikes, Charles M. Sikes Jr., Trina Bailey, Sid Sikes and Jenna Hutto; 26 great grandchilden, four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
