Funeral services for Carole J. Barton, 45, of 75 Highland Avenue, Massena, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena with Rev. Stanley E. Brown officiating.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday afternoon and evening.
Mrs. Barton died Monday (March 11, 1985) in the Medical Center Hospital in Burlington, Vt.
Surviving are her husband, Charles; a daughter, Melinda L., at home; a son, Michael W., at home; a brother, Edward Hanna of Malone; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was born in Malone on December 25, 1939, daughter of George and Sadie Bush Hanna. She graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone and received her BS and Masters degrees from Syracuse University.
She married Charles Barton on December 19, 1970 at St. Mary's Church in Massena with Rev. Michael Shulkin officiating. She was employed as a teacher at Massena Central High School until the time of her death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Carole J. Barton Scholarship Fund in care of the Massena High School Principal.
