Mary Margaret Grozier
Of New Jersey, formerly of New York City, Cambridge and Provincetown, MA, August 10. Daughter of the late Richard and Peggy Murphy Grozier. Sister of the late Richard Jr., David and John. Mary is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. Mary was a published author and poet spending most of her years in New York City. She retired to the Jersey shore in the late eighties. She was a lifetime patron of the arts and attended hundreds of plays, ballets and operas. Mary generously treated her nieces and nephews and dear friends to these enriching cultural experiences. A world traveler, she was an early visitor to Beirut and other Middle Eastern countries, and was a frequent visitor to Ireland. Mary's father Richard was the publisher of the Boston Post which was founded by his father Edwin. While editor, Richard won the Pulitzer Prize for successfully exposing the Charles Ponzi scheme of the 1920s. Mary was intensely loyal to her family and friends, always giving liberally her love and support. She will be deeply missed by all of them. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, MANASQUAN, NJ, is in charge of arrangements.
