Dan Dinh Nguyen, born in Bong Son, Vietnam on September 15, 1927 and a resident of Mobile, AL since fleeing the war in the 1970s, passed away from a heart attack on April 5, 2010 at a local hospital. He was 82 years old. Dan Nguyen was the father of 12 children, several of whom were lost before the rest of the family came to begin new lives in America. As a cornerstone of the family, Dan Nguyen worked for years as a painter for Lamar Advertising and was a member of Saint Monica Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Huong , his daughter Hoa, his son Ngoc, and his grandson Phuong. Dan Nguyen is survived by his two daughters Mai and Nga and their husbands An and Hung; his sons Chau, Huy, and Hoang and his wife Xoua; and his six grandchildren, Trang and her husband Scott, Annie, Khoa, Samantha, Jada and Liam. His family will honor and remember him with visitation at Pine Crest Funeral Homes and Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL, 36605 on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10 am at Our Lady of Lourdes, 1621 Boykin Boulevard, Mobile, AL, 36605, followed by the laying to rest at Pine Crest Cemetery.
