Mrs. Adams was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Cedar Hill, Miss., and she died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in a Silsbee nursing center.
Mrs. Adams and her late husband, Herman, had previously owned and operated Adams Grocery at 1313 Paul Ave. for a number of years. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sonja Vickers; sister, Nell Johnson; brother, Lavester Allen (L.A.) Hoover; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
