Joanne M. Wicks, 51, of Aurora, passed away Friday, October 13, 2000 at Countryside Care Centre. She was born November 14, 1948 in Aurora, IL.
    Joanne was a sweet and gentle spirit known as "Jobey" by those who loved her. She was a graduate of Madonna High School in Aurora and from Northern Illinois University at DeKalb with a B.S. in Art Education. She was an award winning painter whose artwork toured Europe.
    Joanne is survived by her father Gale C. Wicks of Aurora, bothers and sister, Larry G. (Arlene) Wicks of Aurora, Judy (Patrick) Flaherty of Aurora and John (Carol) Wicks of Shabbona, IL. She is also survived by her nephews and niece Bob (Kathy) Wicks of Skokie, IL, Benjamin Flaherty of Boulder, CO, Mark, Katie and Daniel Flaherty all of Aurora, Il, grand nephews Matthew and Eric Wicks, both of Skokie, Il, with whom she enjoyed close and loving relationships. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
    She was preceded in death by her nephews Bryan and Lawrence G. Wicks, Jr. She has been united with her dear mother, Mary, who passed into heaven on September 19, 2000.
    Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2000 at 9:30 a.m. from The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora to Holy Angels Church for a 10 a.m. Mass with Fr. Dean Russell celebrant. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 15, 2000 from 3-5 p.m. at The Healy Chapel with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Hospice 1245 Corporate Blvd., Aurora, IL 60504.
