REFORM - Joseph Mathew Maughan, age 70, of Reform, died Oct. 24, 2007, at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Arbor Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Smith and Rev. Lindsey Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
His parents and his sister, Rosa Euline Maughan, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Sentell Maughan of Reform; daughter, Kim Anderson (Chris) of Gordo; son, Bruce Maughan of Reform; sisters, Polly Watts (Jack) and Peggie Skelton (Hayse) all of Northport; brothers, Murray Maughan (Louise) and Billy Maughan (Judy) all of Reform; granddaughter, Candace Anderson and grandson, Kaleb Anderson, both of Gordo.
Mr. Maughan was born July 13, 1937, in the Benevola Community of Gordo to the late L.C. and Jean Burkhalter Maughan. He was a member of the Baptist faith, retired owner of a wrecker service, a U.S. Navy veteran and a life long resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Mark Maughan, Kent Skelton, Kenneth Watts, Jackie Watts, Keith Skelton, and Louis Sentell.
