Fred Lloyd Webster, age 92, passed from this life Monday, March 29, 2010, at his home in Jerome, Idaho.

Fred was born May 12, 1917, to John Reuben Webster and Edith Ann Smith in Jerome.

He married Mildred Vernetta Strickland in Jerome. They would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on April 12, 2010. They had three children, Terry Ray, Karen Sue and Danny Lloyd.

As a young man, he worked for Minnie Miller at Thousand Springs Ranch, milking 18 Guernsey cows by hand twice a day. Fred delivered gas for Jerome Grange Supply and always had plenty of candy in his truck for the customer's children. He worked at the Jerome Livestock sale yard and was the head of the Jerome Weed Department for many years. He was also a successful farmer and rancher and a member of the Masons for more than 50 years.

Fred loved raising race horses, hunting, fishing and checking out the livestock sales and auctions. He tied his signature fly for fishing that became known as "the Freddy Fly" to his friends. He was a "go-getter," believing that anything was possible with a little hard work and was always quick to help when anyone needed it. He had a terrific sense of humor and always had a friendly smile to share. He will be greatly missed by the many lives that he has touched.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Danny (1964); and two brothers, John (1997) and Bob Webster (2009).

Surviving are his wife, Milly; son, Terry (Joan) Webster of Twin Falls; daughter, Karen Prince of Novato, Calif.; grandchildren, Sherry (Kevin) Owings of Kimberly, Shelly (Dennis) Heidel of Sandy, Utah, and Dawn Gable, of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren, Dustin Owings of Twin Falls, Tyler (Lynnie) Owings of Kimberly, Jason Owings of Boise and Madsen Heidel of Sandy, Utah; great-great-grandchildren, Lydia Owings of Missoula, Mont., and Hazen Owings of Kimberly; his sister, Adelaide Gerard of Gooding; and brother, Dene Webster of Renton, Wash.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
