EDNA — Funeral services for A. A."Curly" Crowell, 68. of Edna, who died Saturday in a Victoria hospital following a long illness, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Slavik Funeral Home chapel.
Dr. Worden McDonald of Houston will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens of Edna.
Mr. Crowell was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Gonzales County. He was a retired Mobile employee and independent trucker. He had lived in Jackson County since 1941. He was a veteran of the Airborne Infantry in World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Lolita.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Crowell of Edna ; a son, Kelly Crowell of College Station; his mother, Mrs. Nancy Crowell of Luling; and two brothers, D.G. Crowell of Victoria and Marion Crowell of Luling.
Pallbearers are Aubrey Sanders, Kenneth Maner, Larry Raybon, Luther Hamilton, Edwin Goad and W. F. Gerald.
