Both these men were killed in the Winter Quarters #4 coal mine explosion. It was a black day on the Utah frontier. Born Plawsworth, Durham, England, Married Rachel Ann Bulger. (Wood marker to the left).

There is aslo a stone marker in this cemetery for Thomas Riley, Dob Apr 17,1863. As this is in stone my guess this Thomas Riley (in wood) is not correct. Reilley, to the right here is correct. Etched in stone is not a favorite sayinbg for nothing! Lists of the deceased show 2 thomas Rileys ( Riley and Reilley ) not 3.

The stone marler with Thomas Riley, Apr 17, 1863 is located in the rear of the cemetery NW quadrant.
