A former Kittanning resident, Charles H. Bowser of 203 Ella St., Girard, Ohio, died at 3:25 a.m. this morning at Northside Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio. Age 84, he was born in Armstrong County on Aug. 19, 1883, a son of the late Harvey and Isabelle (Brewster Hooks) Bowser. Mr. Bowser worked in Armstrong County as a coal miner until his retirement 20 years ago. He served as a volunteer fireman in Kittanning and entertained at local dances as oldtime violinist. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Loyal order of the Moose. Surviving are his wife, the former May Titus; a son, Charles of Girard; and seven daughters: Mrs. Albert Taylor and Mrs. Frank Pavlick, both of Girard; Mrs. Jeffrey Zicard of Vienna, Ohio; Mrs. Michael Vuklevich of Youngstown; Mrs. James Walker of McDonald, Ohio; and Mrs. Lawrence Davanzio and Mrs. Albert Stringer, both of Liberty Township, Ohio. Also: 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. BOWSER – Friends of Charles H. Bowser of Girard, Ohio, formerly of Kittanning, who died July 11, 1968, may call at Blackstone's Funeral Home, 104 East Liberty St., Girard, Ohio, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday and graveside services will be held at Kittanning Union Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday. Arrangements by Blackstone.
