Margie Jones Haynes Maxwell, 73, of Hamburg died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at her residence. A native of Parkdale, a resident of Hamburg since 1982 and a former resident of Wilmot, she was a farmer and beautician for many years and owned and had operated Sawyer's Steak House since 1997. A member of the Church of the Redeemer, she loved to hunt, fish and garden.



She is survived by a son, Mark Haynes and wife Becky of Hamburg; three daughters, Mary Lynn Hearn of West Monroe, LA, Katherine "Tuffy" Higginbotham and husband Frank and Emily Johnson of Hamburg; a brother, J.W. Jones and wife Mary of Jackson, MS; three sisters, Louise Holiday and husband John of Pineville, LA, Linda Myers and husband L. D. of Hamburg and Glenda Lambert and husband Dock of Raymond, MS; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friends, Clayton Haynes, the father of her children, Robert Maxwell and the employees of Sawyers Steak House. She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott & Agnes Hayes Jones; and a brother, Jack Jones.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, April 5, at the Church of the Redeemer with Rev. Bob Whiteley officiating. Burial was at the Beech Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Gilliam, Jimbo Gilliam, Eddie Black, Michael Gourley, Donald Sadler and Randy Tomerlin. Honorary pallbearers were Buck Law, James Robinson, Bill Cason, Bobby Martin, Freddie Martin, Bobby Davis, Don Kelly, Jerry Barnes, Steve Hartshorn, Steve Simmons, Richard Byrd, Sammy Wallace and David Wesson.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Ave., Little Rock, AR 72207.
