Funeral services for Mrs. La Faye Auger Keith, 85, of Farmerville, LA, will be held on 2:00 PM Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Kurt Auger. Burial will follow at Laran Cemetery. Under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA.
Mrs. Keith was born on December 7, 1925 in Truxno, LA, and passed away on April 2, 2010 in Monroe, LA. She was a graduate of Farmerville High School and was a valedictorian in her class. She later graduated from Louisiana Tech, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was owner of Yarbrough Interior Designs in Shreveport, where she had worked for many years as office manager, before eventually buying the business in 2001.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Keith of Shreveport, her parents, T. W. and Allie B. Auger of Farmerville, three brothers, J. Alton Auger of Marion, Huey V. Auger of North Carolina, and Ernest E. Auger of Truxno, and by three sisters, Helen Auger Harper of Ruston, and Robbie Auger Watson of Houston, TX and Freddie A. Lockwood.
She is survived by her son Thomas H. Keith of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; a step-daughter, Mary Keith Sentell of Baton Rouge; two step-sons, Allen D. Keith and William F. Keith of Austin, TX; six grand-children, four great-grand children, a sister, Ann Ratomsky of South Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews, including one niece who was especially close to her in her last days, Anna Auger Milstead of Truxno.
The family is grateful to the staff at Arbor Rose Assisted Living and Retirement Center and to the staff and doctors of St. Francis Medical Center for their loving care.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Pallbearers will be Nephews: Kenneth Milstead, Sonny Auger, Steve Auger, Tim Auger, Tom Auger, Fred Auger, Don Auger, and Kenneth Auger.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA.
