Grover Estes Jr., 83, died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at the Landmark Nursing & Rehab Center in Booneville , MS, after a long illness.

He was born May 29, 1920, in Itawamba County to the late Grover Estes Sr. and Elizabeth Byars Estes.

He was a Veteran of World War II, Serving in the European Theater. He was a 1938 Graduate of Marietta High School. He attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and Graduated from Mississippi State University in 1952 with a Degree in Agriculture. He has been a Farmer and an Agriculture Teacher in Monroe County. At the time of his death, he was Retired from the Farmers Home Administration. He was an active Member of the Church of Christ and served as an Elder of the New Albany Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville with Bro. J. A. Thornton and Bro. Garvis Semore officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include his Wife of 61 years, Belva Beatrice "Bea" Dunn Estes; three Sons, James Estes and Wife, Jeanita, of Booneville; Samuel Estes and Wife, Annette, of Munford, TN; and Daniel Estes and Wife, Kathy, of Lawrenceville, GA; 12 Grandchildren, Timothy Estes and Wife, Tammie, of Americus, GA; Stephen Estes and Wife, Nicole, of Evans, GA; Jason Estes and Wife, April, of Florence, SC; Jonathan Estes and LeAnn Estes, both of Booneville; Ann Marie Estes of Memphis; Jeff Estes and Wife, Melanie, of Paragould, AR; , Elizabeth Bowles, Mary Estes and Ben Estes, all of Southaven; and Emily Estes and Spencer Estes, both of Lawrenceville, GA; two Step Grandchildren, Joni Hartwell and Elisha Hampton, both of Munford, TN; eight Great Grandchildren; two Step Great Grandchildren; two Brothers, John Estes of Oxford; and Samuel R. Estes and Wife, Jackie, of Marietta; two Sisters, Aleta Roy and Husband, Leo, of Waco, TX; and Annie Thomas of Corinth; a Brother-In Law, Billy Joe Yates of St. Louis; a Sister In Law, Tootsie Estes of Jacksonville, FL; an Aunt, Suzie Burns of Marietta; and a host of Cousins, Nephews and Nieces.

He was preceded in death by a Brother, Newton Estes and a Sister, Mary Lou Yates.

His Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
