REPORTED MISSING
Notice from the War Department was received at noon on Tuesday by Mrs Nevin C Altfather, of Denton, stating that her husband, Pfc Nevin C Altfather had been missing in action in Germany since the 16th of December. The last letter received by Mrs Altfather from her husband was written on the 6th of December.

C.N. ALTFATHER RITES AT DENTON
Burial services for Pfc C Nevin Altfather, who died in the Battle of the Bulge at Kesternich, Germany, Dec 16, 1944, were conducted in Denton cemetery Thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev Thomas J Turkington, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, and the American Legion.
The young man was inducted into the Army nine months before his death.
He was the son of John W and Melissa Will Altfather, of Denton.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Miss Dollie Towers, and three children, Charles Richard, Connie Malinda, and Peggy Jean. Also three brothers, Kenneth, of Columbia, S.C.; Harry and Harold, of Denton; Mrs Robert Gibson, of Queen Anne, and Miss Idamae Altfather, of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Nevin served as a Private First Class in the 310th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division, US Army during World War II.
He resided in Caroline County, Maryland prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army on March 30, 1944 at Fort George G Meade, Maryland. He was noted as being employed as a welder and also as married.
He was awarded a Purple Heart, and was "Killed in Action" during the war.
