Mrs. Toomey was born in York, on August 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Franklin and Ida (Beck) Becker.
Mrs. Toomey was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Freysville, where she was active in the soup sales, Senior Group, and Lutheran Church Women. She was active in March of Dimes Walks, and York Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. Her main passion in life was caring for her family and friends and she enjoyed baking, canning, and cooking.
Mrs. Toomey leaves a son, John D. Toomey and his wife, Virginia of York; two daughters, Donna M. Martin and her husband, Merle, Jr. of York, and Robin Dehoff and her husband, Bill of Red Lion; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Thelma Dellinger of York, and Betty Gallo of Pottsville. She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Burial will be in Freysville Cemetery.
