Butch was strong, brave, big in size and in heart. He took nothing from anyone. He wasn't "bad" but the "bad" didn't mess with him, yet he was also warm and gentle, smart and funny, kind and sweet and a bit of a marshmallow. He fought with his sister when they were young, and would defend her if she was disrespected or if someone hurt her feelings. He would fight to the death for his family. On a snowy, blustery December 29, 1983, while he and his family were going to visit relatives after Christmas, the hood flew up on his pick up truck. The truck began to slide, and as a bridge was coming up he cranked the steering wheel so that the truck would hit on the driver's side so as to save his children and his wife. He died later that day. He was a man in every sense of the word. I am proud to say he was MY BIG BROTHER And MY HERO.
