Obituary of Judy Hunt

On the evening of Thursday June 3, 2021 Judith (Judy) Brown Hunt passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, in Mesa Arizona. Judy was born July 8, 1934 to goodly parents, Ralph Edwin and Julia Bell (Sevey) Brown, in Chandler Arizona. Judy attended Chandler and Provo High Schools, graduating from Provo High in 1952. Judy attended BYU until transferring to ASU in 1955, where she met her husband, Don L Hunt of Strawberry Arizona, at an institute dance. Judy and Don solemnized their marriage in the Arizona Temple on June 17th 1955. Judy graduated from ASU in 1966 with an Elementary Education degree and taught first grade in the Mesa Schools district. Judy had a passion for history and language. She also enjoyed teaching kids how to read. She would be so delighted at the look on her students' faces when they would learn something new.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Don L Hunt Sr., parents Ralph E and Julia Brown, brother Ralph G Brown, and sisters Eileen Brown, Velda Robbins, Joyce Knudsen, and grandson Jason Prisbrey.

She is survived by sisters: Marjie Brown-Vance (Glenn), Geraldine Brown Kennedy (J.C.). Children: Julie Prisbrey, Donnetta Ostergren (Jerry), Don L Hunt Jr (Todd Williams), Eva Jo Tyger (Alan). Grandchildren: Tara Adams, Amy Jo Royall, Summyr Prisbrey, Dallin Tyger, Kailey Prisbrey, Taylor Tyger, Olivia Tyger, Trisha Hauserman, Halley Tyger. Great grandchildren: Taytum Adams, Kasyn Adams, Teagan Adams, Winter Prisbrey, Kent Royall, Lucas Prisbrey-Dominguez, Fredrick Royall, Christiana Hauserman, Jesse Hauserman.

Services to be held 10:30 am Friday June 11th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Thunder Mountain Ward building, 7752 East McDowell Road, Mesa, Arizona 85207-1223. There will be a family viewing from 9:00 to 10:15, and a family prayer at 10:15.

Flowers may be sent to Red Mountain Funeral Home, 456 N. Mesa Dr., Mesa, AZ 85201, on Thursday, June 10 or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Thunder Mountain Ward building, 7752 East McDowell Road, Mesa, Arizona 85207 on Friday, June 11. Thank you.
