Leonard Edward Farmer, age 89, of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
He was born July 31, 1920 in Sparta, the son of Ira and Ida (Umphres) Farmer.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served in the 416th Artillery Battalion during World War II. He served his country in North Africa and on the European Field.
Mr. Farmer was a long time farmer in the Lamar area. Survivors include a sister, Helen Kruckemeyer, Springfield; a sister-in-law, Ann Farmer; four nephews, Alan Suiter, Larry Suiter, Leonard Suiter and John Farmer; and a niece, Susan Davis. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Farmer, and his parents. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, in Oakton United Methodist Church, Lamar, with Reverend Larry Garfield officiating. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Jasper. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
