Ulysses Coffin Norton was born to Abraham Lincoln Norton and Henrietta Bernice Lord Norton of Jonesboro, Maine. Ulysses married Charlotte G Dorr, daughter of William Henry Dorr and Sarah E Randall Dorr, on 20 Aug, 1905. Ulysses and Charlott had no children. In the U S Federal Census records for 1910, 1920, and 1930, Ulysses is listed as a Lumberman, Merchant in Jonesport, selling coal & lumber and owning a lumberyard. In his 1918 WWI Draft Card, Ulysses lists himself as a Merchant.Notes for middle name Cole vs Coffin

Early Jonesborough Families of Washington Co., Maine list on page 319 his middle name as "Cole". His mother's name was Henrietta Bernice (Lord) Cole, so accepted that "Cole" was his middle name. She was married first to WILLIAM COFFIN COLE of Harrington.

Then Lee Norton pointed out to me that his WW1 Draft Registration card has as his name and signature Ulysses Coffin Cole.
