LAURA ELLEN KYNER
With deep regret we note the passing away of Miss Laura Ellen Kyner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Kyner, which occurred at the family home on North Grand street on Friday morning, January 30, 1920, at the age of 13 years, 10 months and 14 days.
A few days previous she was stricken with scarlet fever and diphtheria. So critical was her condition that her life was despaired of from the first.
Laura was a freshman in the Chariton high school and was a favorite among her associates, who will miss her genial disposition. She has been a faithful attendant at the Presbyterian Sabbath school and was active in the Endeavor Society.
The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved parents, brothers and sisters, who have been called upon to give up this loved one.
Besides her parents, she leaves to mourn her departure three sisters: Frances, Louise and Doline; and two brothers: Harold and Leonard, all at home: as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were conducted on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, at the graveside in the Chariton cemetery by Rev. C. W. McClelland.
