OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)

The death of Faye Bickel Gurtner, 59, wife of Leo Gurtner, occurred Tuesday morning at 7:15 o'clock in her home at 403 East Hill street, her death following a long illness. She had been bedfast the last four months.

The body was taken to the Hoover Funeral home and Tuesday afternoon returned to the late residence where services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Falls cemetery.

Faye Bickel, a life resident of the county, was the daughter of William and Clara Bickel and was born in Wabash county on May 4, 1884. She was married to Leo Gurtner in 1909. The family resided on a farm south of Wabash until about 14 years ago when they moved to Wabash.

She was a member of the Friends church and belonged to several of the church organizations until she became ill.

Survivors include the husband Leo Gurtner, five children, Ardith Gurtner, at home; Guilford Gurtner, Silver Lake; Meredith Gurtner, Union City; Grayston and Nathan Gurtner, at home; one grandchild, Jan Gurtner of Silver Lake; a brother and sister, Minor Bickel and Mrs. Harry Halderman, both of Wabash.
