Sgt. Army Air Corp. WWII
After high school graduation, Chris worked for Thompson Theaters until early 1941. After that, he worked in construction in Los Angeles, California.
In 1942 he entered the Armed Forces and served in the signal corps with radar training at Camp Murphy, Florida. After leaving Florida the last day of December, 1942, he served overseas. ln 1944 Chris returned to Florida to give instruction in radar at Boca Raton Air Force Base. He was discharged from the Army Air Corps in Wichita Falls in 1945.
Chris married Mom, a Florida girl, Besse Fuquay, in 1944. They had three children, Cecil, Darliene, and Chris A., all now living in Florida. Their nine grandchildren are Loren, Keary, Bo, Jessica, Ryan, Jennifer, Anna, Naomi, & Christi. Seven Great Grandchildren, Brandon Devyn, Victoria, Luke, Arabella, Eve, Joshua.
For twenty-six years until retirement in 1977, Chris owned and operated TV Town in Lake Worth & North Trail TV in Palm Beach Gardens. Every year the Family traveled & camped around Florida, Oklahoma and vacationed in North Carolina. Chris and Besse's hobbies include going to sports tournaments and events in the area, growing vegetables and flowers year around, and fishing. Every day Chris walked two miles, read, and watched Sports TV in his home-in Jupiter, Florida. He attended his sixtieth anniversary class reunion.
Dad did not have a middle name, but when he enlisted into the Air Corp., he said they insisted he had to fill out that spot with at least an initial. He choose "A" and used it the rest of his life.
