FUNERAL SERVICE HELD FOR ROCKDALE RESIDENT
Rockdale, Tex., Nov. 30 - Funeral services for C. K. Stribling, who died suddenly Wednesday, were held from the home on Thursday. Stribling was the youngest and last surviving son of the late Rev. James F. Stribling, early-day pastor of Rockdale, Tex. He had lived in Rockdale for more than 50 years and married Mary Copeland, daughter of the late W. E. Copeland, early-day Presbyterian minister.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Ralph Stribling of Houston; seven daughters, Mrs. Reed Laurence of Castroville; Mrs. W. S. McClintock, Refugio; Mrs. Alfred Dippel, Dallas; Mrs. Esther Quinlan, Misses Catherine, Cornelia and Helen Stribling, Rockdale; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Gentry of Corpus Christi; Mrs. W. A. Morrison of Cameron.
C. K. STRIBLING DIES AT HOME, ROCKDALE WEDNESDAY MORN
C. K. Stribling, about 63, a long-time resident and well-known citizen of Rockdale, died at his home here Wednesday morning about 11:15 o’clock after a very brief illness. His death was attributed to a heart attack probably brought on by acute indigestion, according to Dr. T. S. Barkley, attending physician.
Mr. Stribling became quite sick Tuesday night about 10 o’clock, and death followed Wednesday.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 o’clock Thursday morning from the residence, and interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. “The Rockdale Reporter and Messenger,” Rockdale, Texas, November 30, 1933.
