George was the son of Fred and Alice Bernice (Conger) Ammon. He served in the US ARMY during WWIHe first worked for the Wabash Railroad, then later he became an engineer for the Norfork and Southern. He married Betty Jo Woolston on October 2, 1953 at Harrionville, Arkansas.

He was a 50 year member of the Mendon Masonic Lodge and now a member of the Warren Masonic Lodge at Keytesville, Mo.

He is survived by his wife Betty of the home; two sons, Fred (Gene) Ammon of Gatlinburg, Tennessee and Alan Ray Ammon of Salisbury; two sisters, Almire Stephens of Brokfield, and Doris Tiemeyer of Meadville, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant brother, one son, Barry Lynn Ammon and brothers in law and sissters in law.

Pallbearers were Jim Srader, Don Breshears, Gary Woolston, John Kehr, Randy Woolston and Larry Breshears, honary pall bearers were Andy Cornilsn and Donald Kennedy.
