Brock Elliot Choate, 24, of Loyalsock, our loving son, brother, and friend, went to rest in eternal peace on Nov. 17, 2009.

Born Dec. 3, 1984, he was a son of Jane Logue Choate and Warren and Mary Choate.

He was a 2003 graduate of Loyalsock Township High School where as a football player he was an Associated Press Small School First-Team All-State selection. He earned an athletic football scholarship to the University of Maryland where he played two seasons, including the 2004 Gator Bowl. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Bloomsburg University.

Upon graduation Brock was employed by Sanjel USA in gas exploration in Colorado and Texas. He recently went to work for Express Energy Services out of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He was a member of the Williamsport Country Club where he enjoyed golfing and attempting flying squirrels. He enjoyed spending time with friends, four-wheeling, and hunting at Gray's Run Hunting Club, Trout Run, where his biggest trophies were a 385 lb black bear and a coyote.

Surviving, besides his parents, are his brother, Warren Joseph Choate II, his sister, Lindsay Elizabeth Choate, his stepbrother, Joseph V. Salvucci Jr., and stepsister, Jamie Engel Salvucci; grandparents, George and Elizabeth Logue, and Melva Choate; nephew, Triston Choate; nieces, Madison and Lillian Choate; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Warren Alvin Choate.

Family and friends may call at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., on Saturday, November 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Msgr. Stephen McGough will officiate. Internment will immediately follow at Wildwood Cemetery.

Family will provide the flowers. If desired, memorials may be made in Brock's memory to St. Boniface Catholic Church or the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National MS Society, 2040 Linglestown Road, Suite 104, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
