Blakemore, a distinguished surgeon and beloved colleague for nearly 40 years.

Blakemore-Sengstaken Tube. A triple-lumen tube with two inflatable balloons for
applying esophageal tamponade to stop bleeding from esophaged varices. Devised
by an American surgeon from New Jersey Rober William Sengstaken (b 1923) and
Arthur Hendley Blakemore of New York in 1950.
