Garry L. Cooper, 59, St. Joseph, MO, passed away Friday, March 12, 2004 at his residence.
Mr. Cooper was born Sept 29, 1944, St. Joseph, MO, where he lived all his life. A graduate of Central High School and Tarkio College, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Employed by Mead Westvaco as a tool crib attendant for forty years before retiring six months ago. He volunteered at the Stationery Credit Union for the past 19 years and was a member of the St. Joseph Ostomy Support Group.
Garry married Catherine J.Branam, May 25, 1968, in St. Joseph, MO. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his son, Cameron Cooper, St. Joseph, MO; his sister, Carol Metz, Atlanta, GA; his father, George and wife, Myrlene Salanky, St. Joseph, MO; and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Eileen (Coy) Salanky.
Services Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. today, at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Patrick's School Fund.
