Margaret Kennedy was born 23 May 1833, in Argyle,Washington Co.,NY.,daughter of Alexander and Sally (Tice)Kennedy. The family came to Whiteside Co.in 1848. She belonged to the Methodist Episcopal Church in Morrison.

Margaret married Fredus Howard Jacobs(as his 3rd wife)12 July 1861, in Clyde Township. She cared for his infant son, David Gaines Jacobs, as well as their own children: Anna Isadora(1862),Carrie Blanche (1864) Oraletta Lucinda(1865),an infant son, who died young, and Emma Jane Jacobs(1869)
At the age of 46 years, 1 month & 3 days, Margaret died of typhoid fever, 12 June 1881, and was buried in Heaton Cemetery. (Obit.Whiteside Sentinel, 15 June 1881; Death record #668,Whiteside Co. Courthouse)
