Mrs. Mary E. Ellis, 68, of Palestine died Sunday, August 10, following a
brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 12, in Bailey
Memorial Chapel in Palestine with the Rev. W. M. White officiating. Burial
followed in East Hill Cemetery.

A native of Georgia, Mrs. Ellis had made her home in Palestine for over 50
years. A member of First Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Mack Ellis, who died December 30, 1952.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. H. H. (Marjorie) Cole of Houston; three
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers,
Jesse Rogers of
Crandall, James Rogers of Seagoville and Clifford Rogers of Oklahoma City;
two sisters, Mrs. Ina Wilkins and Mrs. Effie Williams, both of Grapeland.
