Jackie G. Bowers, 60 of Phenix City, AL, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Sumter, SC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM EST Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N. Phenix City, AL with Rev. Harvey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday eveing from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM EST at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowers was born April 20, 1949 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Ferdinand Gene Bowers and Dorothy Barnes Manors. He was an electrician and was pentecostal by faith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Bowers.
Survivors include his, daughters, Donna Capps and husband Tim of Dalzell, SC, Carol Bowers of Phenix City, AL, brother, Tommy Bowers of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Brandie Capps, Khira Capps, Jeremy Miller, Heather Brisky, great grandchild, Savannah Capps, best friends, Joyce Bowers of Phenix City, AL and Richard Nixon of Columbus, GA.
