Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church, Panhandle, with Rev. Charles E. McDowell, minister of the Bible Baptist Church, Borger, officiating. Burial was in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, Amarillo.
Music for the services was furnished by the Blackburn-Shaw quartet and Mrs. Douglas M. Smith organist.
Mrs. Bond, the former Carrie Owens, was born Sept. 23, 18961, in Knox county, Mo. She was married to John Wellington Bond of Brookfield, Mo., Nov. 25, 1891.
They moved to Panhandle in 1917 after living for several years in Bovina. Bond, who was a carpenter and justice of peace, died March 14, 1921, in Panhandle and was buried here.
Mrs. Bond was a member of the Panhandle Baptist Church. For the last several years she had lived with her daughters, but until about 4 years ago she spent the summers at her home in north Panhandle.
Mrs. Bond was the mother or 5 children, only 3 of whom survive, Mrs. J.E. (Muriel) Copeland, Farmington, N.M.; Mrs. Englant and Mrs. Howard (Ethel) Schroeder, Borger. Othe [sic] survivors are 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, a nephew, B.M. Garnett, Junction City Kan., and a niece, Mrs. George Carpenter, Brookfield, Mo.
