Anna Mae Wyborney was born in Delrio, Douglas County, Washington on 6 March 1916, to the parents of Albert Alexander Wyborney and Melyann Woolbert. Her father had came to Washington in 1903 and eventually settled on 321 acres in Douglas County*.

The first record for Anna is the 1920 census record for Douglas County, Washington. Anna is 3-years-old and living in the house hold of her father, Albert Wyborney. Her father was listed as a wheat farmer and owning their own farm. In May of 1920, Anna was listed in the Douglas County, Washington school census. This census recorded the children ages 4 to 21 in the county. Her mother, Anna Wyborney, answered the census questions and included her older brother Irvin in the census. She also appears in the 1921 and 1922 school census for the month of May giving Delrio as their post office.

Sometime in 1925, Her father sold their land and moved 166 miles north to Yakima County, Washington. They settled on a place and became prominent citizens of Mabton, Washington. Mabton was a fairly new farming community, having been incorporated in 1905.

In 1930, Anna appears in the census for mabton, precinct 62, Mabton Reservation. She is 14-years-old and living in her fathers household, on a farm that they own. In the household is her mother, father, brother, and sister.

In 1933-1934 Anna Mae graduated from the Mabton High School. She would later move to Seattle and work for a time, occasionally coming back to Mabton to visit her parents. On 6 April 1939, The Sunnyside Times reported, "Miss Anna Mae wyborney and Josephine Wyborney have returned home from an indefinite stay in Seattle with relatives."

In 1940, Anna Mae is listed in the 1940 census. Anna Mae lived on a farm that her father owned in rural Mabton, Yakima County, Washington. Anna Mae's mother estimated the value of the home (not the entire farm) as $400. The equivalent in today's dollars is $7,600. Anna Mae was 24-years-old with a 22-year-old, younger sister. Anna Mae's father was 58 and her mother was 51. Her father had an elementary education, while her mother had a college education. Her father was listed as a farm laborer on a general farm.

On 24 April 1941, The Sunnyside Times reported, "Mrs. Albert Wyborney has been ill and confined to her bed for the past two weeks. Her daughter Miss Anna Mae Wyborney who has been employed in Seattle for some time is here to care for her.

On 13 July 1941, Anna Mae Wyborney married Jesse Walter Lamp in Mabton, Yakima, Washington. They were married by the reverend R.M. Broadbrookes at the local Presbyterian Manse. Jesse Walter Lamp was a native of Seattle and visited the Wyborney home during the summer of 1940. The Sunnyside Times reported, "Miss Anna Mae Wyborney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wyborney of Mabton was married to Jess Walter Lamp of Seattle, Sunday at 1pm…. The couple will live at Seattle where Mr. Lamp has employment with a construction company," (July 17, 1941).

Anna Mae and Walter made their home in Seattle. They would come and visit the Wyborneys whenever possible. On August 14, 1941, the Sunnyside Times reported, "Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lamp, of Seattle, visited at the home of Mrs. Lamps parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wyborney, over the weekend."

They moved back to Mabton in April of 1942 as reported in the Sunnyside Sun, "Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lamp, are living at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wyborney. They have leased a part of the Caam Ranch which was formerly the Martin Neilson place," (9 April 1942, pg. 4).

On 7 August 1942, Anna and Walter became the parents of a daughter, Sandra Joe Lamp. This would be their first child together. They would later move to the former home of Mrs. Clara Bridgestock where they'd remain until their move up on the hill in Mabton. On February 10, 1944, the Sunnyside Sun reported, "Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lamp and daughter moved upon the hill on one of Ned Roberts places."

Anna Mae and Walter left Mabton and moved to Santa Barbara, California. They remained in California, being near his mother, and they became parents to twin daughters on 30 July 1945. They named them Judith Ann and Alice Marie Lamp. The Sunnyside Sun reported, "Twin daughters were born recently to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lamp of Los Angeles. Mrs. Lamp is the former Miss Anna Mae Wyborney" (August 9, 1945).

In 1946, Walter and Anna were living in California, at 109 Bath street, where Walter worked as a baker. he was employed at the Copper Coffee Pot. They remained in California for three years before moving back to Mabton where they remained.

Over the next couple years Anna Mae and Walter added two more daughters, Denise and Virginia, to their family.

Anna Mae worked for the Mabton city clerk for a number of years. She also worked for the J and M Food store in Mabton for a number of years. Anna Mae Lamp passed away at her home on 21 Aug 1978 at the age of 62, from congestive heart failure. The Sunnyside Sun posted her obituary on 31 August 1978.
