Word was received in Springfield Monday of the death of J. Roger Humphreys, of South Bend, Ind., a former Springfield resident.
Mr. Humphreys died at 7:30 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He had been ill for several months.
He was born in Springfield, a son of Alfred E. and Jessie M. Humphreys.
Before retiring, he was branch manager of the Oliver Corp. in South Bend.
Survivors include a son, John R., Jr., of South Bend; three grandchildren, Catherine, John R. III, and Mrs. James C. Waltman, all of South Bend and a brother, Felix O. Humphreys, of Springfield. His wife, Ruth, died in 1960.
Services will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Yellow Springs, at a time to be announced later.
