He was a resident of Paintsville,a retired C&O Railroad employee and a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church.
His first wife, Bertha Webb George preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife,Alka Helton George;3 sons, Gene George of Warsaw,IN, Elias George Jr. of Kansas and Chester George of Texas; 2 daughters, Julia Young of Kenova,WV and Dottie Mead of Whitehouse; 2 brothers, Lundie George of Ulysses and Homer George of Urbana,OH; a sister Virgie Meadows of Greenup;16 grandchildren;1great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, January 10, at 11 a.m. in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Ellis Hamilton and Byrd Webb officiating.
Burial was in Burke Cemetery at Thealka with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
