Mary Eva Swope was born July 17, 1932 and departed this life Wednesday, May 27, 2015 reaching the age of 82 years. She was the daughter of the late Major Harrison and Mary Annie (Catron) Sidwell.
She is survived by: son, Billy Swope (Debbie); three daughters, Pam Toler (Floyd), Jan Pyles (Roger), and Alice Ann Guffey; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by: two sisters, Martha Jean Smith and Myra Ann Santo; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Major and Mary Sidwell, she was preceded in death by: her husband, W. C. Swope; two brothers, Major Sidwell and Mentis Sidwell; and one sister, Lucille Chesney.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, 2015 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
